Would someone recommend some books to a teen?

Life of Pi was pretty good, the Good Earth was good but kind of sad. Since you have Hercule Poirot in there (Agatha Christie was a genius) maybe try Sherlock Holmes. Also, personally, ive been reading the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr) by Christopher Paolini, they are very good.
