2008 Ford Focus users manual says it uses lifetime air filter. Talked 2 service dept. says they'll last.......

........for 250,000km. That sounds highly dubious to me. The Ford Service Dept. said don't take it out u never have to touch it. They're like a $450 part he said, and he mentioned the price of it more than once. Even the K&N Filters you have to clean....this seems strange but I'm not gonna touch it if thats what they say. ---Clearly the idea is to make a less maintenance oriented car.......because people are lazy and don't wanna do that stuff.......but it seems strange as to how they achieve a 250,000km air filter without service or cleaning.
