If you kill a mugger/robber in Brazil is it cosidered self defense?

if you're being mugged/rubbed chances are you in danger and fearing for your life.....you pull out a gun/knife and kill the attacker, changing from your the victim to now he's the hunted....do you go to jail for murder or is it self defense?
