Painful colonoscopy and painful the day after?

I had a colonoscopy yesterday, it was agony, I kept grabbing hold of stuff and yelling like an idiot. I can't remember because they gave me extra sedative whether they actually finished it or not- I think he said he'd probably need to do another one under general anaesthetic- and they took 2 polyps out which they're sending to histology. There was some blood when I went to the loo afterwards. Today, it really hurts, it feels really bruised and tender inside and my lower back is aching. I've been to the loo but only a little bit (TMI, sorry) which hurt afterwards and when I was actually going there was like a sharp pain. Does that sound normal?
